Expected results from tourism

  • The local protected area of Ak-Shyirak community, which is 20,000 hectares in size, will become better controlled by the local population.

  • The Sarychat-Eertash nature reserve, with a total area of 143,000 hectares, will improve infrastructure and security by involving the local population in ecotourism.

  • The local population will improve well-being by generating income through the new program. Each tour will bring in $2,000-3,500 to the local community.

  • Each tour will involve an average of 9-10 people.

  • The local protected area will be a good habitat for wild animals such as argali and snow leopard

Conditions for maintaining a stable snow leopard population will improve.
